Sonder
Sonder was launched as a part of my final research for my Degree in Theatre and Performance Practice at Salford University. My research explored how a truly organic devising process can be upheld whilst being facilitated and Directed by myself and Co-Artistic Director April Wright.
First performed on 05/05/26 at The New Adelphi Theatre, Salford
Co-Artistic Director and producer: Frankie Corless
Co-Artistic Director and movement: April Wright.
Other collaborators include:
Seth Ryan, Ellie Hassall, Charlotte Downes, Charlie McEntee and Jack Ellison
Over ten weeks, through a blend of facilitated writing and movement sessions, the use of games and improvisation and under the direction of myself and my co-director, we created Sonder.
Sonder is a bizarre exploration of perception through movement and task based performance. Seven performers battle with their self awareness, perception and reality. As their usual, mundane schedule is disrupted, their mentality shifts.

Sonder was built through conversation, devising games, improvisation and inquisitive investigation of the world around us. Starting with the stimulus Equilibrium, and building on our previous work, Practicing To Be Upright, our new cast explored new avenues for this material.
